The stars of the weekend - Tracor Racing!

This past week-end was the 2nd annual Reason to Ride Bike Show and the Lawn Tractor Racing Championships. The folks with Reason to Ride and the Westside community Center really hosted a great 2 day event, benefiting the Westside Community Center in Bivalve, Maryland.

As a mother, I look for events both my girls and I will enjoy. This is surely one of them. With bounce houses, pony rides, tractor pulls, and carnival rides. There was plenty to keep the kiddies happy. Many food vendors were there with a variety of food. One even had fried Oreo cookies. My daughter, Wins, and PJ liked them. Of course, a few accessories and goodie vendors were there. One vendor was airbrush painting t - shirts, helmets, etc. His work was amazing. One of the bikes in the Bike Show was painted by him. Check out the pics… There were a few very nice bikes in the Bike Show. The bike I would have picked for the Touring Class actually took 1st place. Congrats to all the winners!!

The bike games were held on Sunday. Everyone always has a good time playing them and watching them. I participated in my first bike game. The road kill one. Ha-Ha. I have to say I had a good time. My dear friend PJ was there to see this. So looks like I will be in other games in the near future.

Oh… Something I thought was neat. The World Championship Pancake Throwing Competition. I have never seen nor heard of this before. And yes it is exactly what you're thinking. They even had trophies for Men, Women, and kids. I didn't give it a try, but I am sure there is nothing like whipping a pancake 100's of yards and winning a World Title to boot. Way to go winners!!

Of course a highlight of the week - end, The Lawn Tractor Racing Championships. I have heard of it but never watched them race. I would have never guessed it to be as big a sport as it is. From what I understand, they travel all around and race. What I know is they are a lot of fun to watch. Especially the Mini Grand Prix cars. They were my daughter's favorite. Wins made a comment on how great the sportsmanship was. I have to agree. Sure they were racing, and in competition. But any situation that came up was handled terrific by everyone involved.

I would like to add:

A couple weeks before this event, Wins and I took a ride to Bivalve. Pretty much we found a field with a lot of high grass. I was amazed when we got there for the event. The place looked great. To everyone involved in getting things ready…GREAT JOB!!

Thanks to all for the good time.
