Another cool event thanks to A.B.A.T.E. of Maryland. August 5-6 was their Rodeo/Bike show in Taneytown, MD. Several of us planned to meet Saturday morning at Twin Iron Customs, Easton, MD for the ride up. A few bikes, couple of campers, Wins and I (with his sporty in tow) headed out for Big Pipe Creek Park.

Saturday to me, seemed like set up day. Pretty much just hanging out, getting ready for Sunday. I believe this year was the first for a 2-day event. After unloading and setting up, a few of us went for a ride. The weather was great and Taneytown has some beautiful country. We stopped at a cool little restaurant/lounge, The Gold Deuce. Very biker friendly and a great band (Guilty as Charged) were playing. I had a terrific time and met a couple new friends.

Sunday was more of the Day of the Event to me. A few vendors came out, a motorcycle rodeo and peoples choice bike show. Live music provided by The Robert Allen Blues Band. They did a great job and had an awesome harmonica player. Of course, A.B.A.T.E.s bottomless mug was available. The motorcycle rodeo was a lot of fun. Quite a few entered and everyone had a great time. Even had a courageous guy enter the weenie bite contest, riding on the back of his girls bike! In addition, I must say did rather well (lol). As always, the A.B.A.T.E. members in charge of the rodeo did a great job. Considering it got hot and the tug-of-war treat things went smooth and all had fun. Thanks all!

I have to say. I had a great time in Taneytown. I saw beautiful country, met new friends, and enjoyed another cool event with the Biker community. Thanks again to all the members of A.B.A.T.E. of Maryland. See you at the next event!
