Salisbury American Legion Post 64 Wounded Warrior Weekend Benefit |
Winslow: I'm talking with Commander Dave of the Salisbury American Legion Post 64 of Salisbury, MD. They are planning on holding their first annual Wounded Warrior Weekend Bike Show on Saturday, 4/24/2010. I was honored to be invited to hear a speaker from the Centreville post speak about their very similar benefit. Sounds like this is one very special cause! Tell us about the Wounded Warrior Weekend you guys are raising money for. Commander Dave: The wounded Warrior Weekend project is a program that will bring approx. 4-5 veterans on the eastern shore from Walter Reed Hospital. These individuals that come here will spend an all expense paid fishing or hunting trip on the shore. This is a small way us Americans can say thank you for our freedom. GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO GAVE SO MUCH. The donations collected will help to offset costs of food, lodging and tokens of appreciation which could include lifetime membership to the American Legion, gift cards , and personalized jackets/shirts. Winslow: I was very moved by what I heard, this is definitely one special cause we all as Americans should support!
