Its Federalsburg Baaaaayyyyybe!! : Steven Winslow Upon Arriving at the Show...
Article By Sweet Emotion
Just as I expected, the Bike Show at the VFW in Federalsburg, Maryland was awesome!
The show of support from the biker community at last years event was great; and this year was no exception. Although I have been to many biker events, the show of support from the biker community at this event was amazing. Both lawns in front of the VFW were filled with 100’s of bikes. From beginning to end, this event was packed and a great time!
This is one of the events of the season that Delmarvabikers and Race Track Trailer Sales teams up as vendors. We had a super spot to set up; with Mr. Bill (Williamsburg Motor Works) on one side of us and Twin Iron Customs on the other; I knew this would be a great time.
All the folks involved with organizing this event did a great job. The fun was non-stop all day. Several vendors came out with their goodies. Cross Roads and Bird Dog & the Road Kings provided some awesome tunes, with Shelly Abbott doing the DJ thing. I see Shelly at many of the events, and she really pulls out all the stops to make sure the event is a success.
The burn-out pit was cool. Although I would never enter a bike I owned and protest when Wins mentions entering his Sportster; I do like to watch the guys burn-out and for sure it is a real crowd pleaser. I think anyone who knows Nick Parks and Dave (Harwoods) will say, they really put on an awesome show In the burn-out pit!
There were quite a few entries in the Bike Show. I have said many times, I am so glad I don’t have to be a judge. All of the bikes are nice, and I saw many in each class with 1st place quality! One of my *pet* entries *SKITTLES* made the show; and won a trophy. (WTG John!) and congratulations to all the winners. Of course a big winner was a lady from Bridgeville, Delaware. She won a hefty $10,000.00 with the bike raffle. A big congrats to her and happy spending!
I would like to add a big thanks to the Ladies Aux. of the VFW. The food was great as always!
Mark, Russell and everyone involved in organizing and executing this event do a great job. They go all out to ensure a successful event; and always have a great cause for the event. Part of the proceeds was used for six local scholarships and phone cards for our troops. To everyone a big thank you; your hard work and dedication is so appreciated; and way to go on a successful event. We are already anticipating next years’ festivities.

Freakin Neighbors! : Bob Wolfe on our new Barbie Trailer Demonstrator...
After doing this for a year, you get to like certain shows. I dunno what it is, but Federlasburg VFW is always a favorite of mine. From the great people, food and vendors to the bikes, to the burnout pit, to Mark and Russell who always put on such a great show, Federalsburg VFW has to rank as one of my favorites! Thsi year was no exception...
We started out a bit early this year, actually heading up and gettiong situated the night bofre the show. Mark and Russell were kind enough to situate us next to two good friends, Bill Kenedy and Bob Wolfe. We set up as usual first thing in the morning and got a peek at The Undertaker, a new product Williamsburg Motorworks is offeriing. This thing is way cool if you havnt seen one, it allows you to hitch a bike to the back of your car or truck. Its a kind of sling deal for the front wheel and the back wheel rides on the pavement! Way cool!
Bob Wolfe brought in a bunch of his latest projects including the new YAmaha bike for Jonny Johnston of Cambridge Motorsports. That is going to be one sweeeet ride when he gets it done! Loads of customizations, from all hand made pipes to a wild eye catching paint scheme, I cant wait to see the end result! Randy, Charlie, Norma, Becca and the rest of the Twin Irons crew all made the show as well!
We premiered the new trailer from racetrackoc.com for 07, a nice new White Low Rider... These trailkers really are the bomb, complete with drop gate, side door, electric brakes, and a whole host of other features HAULMARK is deffinately the Cadilac of motorcycle trailers! We also premiered the new Alarm Guard trailer alarm systems. Neat stuff, these are solar powered and are quite sophisticated!
As the day wore on, we were treated to burnouts by DJ, Nick (formerly of Critical Intentions) and Dave from Harwoods V-Twin. I hadnt seen Dave or Nick in months, so it was great as always to hook up with old friends!
The event drew HUGE crowds and loads of bikes as allways! Crossroads as well as Bird Dog and the Road Kings provided some GREAT biker music... BIG THANKS to Russell, Mark and the entire Federalsburg VFW for putting on such a great show! The new Pavilion looks awesome, and even though I didnt win the bike (dam it!) we had a great time! Federalsburg VFW is always a hit and I cant wait for the Fall event!
After the event, The crew from Willaimsburg, Lisa and I all went to Harwoods for an after event party! Big thanks to Dave Harwood for the Hospitality and some of the best ribs I have ever eaten! HEY DAVE WHERE ARE MY DATES?!?!?! (Inside joke.)
Got a cool bike you'd like to show off here at delmarvabikers.com? Like to write articles? Drop me a line and we'll see if we can hook ya up! |
